Dye Paper With Rit!

There are endless possibilities when it comes to dyeing paper. A few of our favorites include, stationary, gift tags, table cards and menu cards. Follow along to learn how!

Step 1: Pick a Color

We have over 50 colors to choose from! Plus, you can mix our dyes to create over 1,000 additional colors with our color formulas!

Step 2: Pour Dye

We usually recommend 3 cups of water to every 1/2 cup of dye. Play with the ratios to find the right color for you.

Step 2: Dye Paper

Dip paper directly into dyebath, it will dye within a few seconds. You don’t want to leave the paper in the dyebath too long otherwise the paper will begin to warp.

Create an Ombré Effect!

If you are looking to achieve an ombré effect, dip the paper in quickly and then pull it out slowly, allowing the bottom portions of the paper to spend a few more seconds in the dye.
