Instructions
- Prewash canvas in warm, soapy water. This helps to remove any finishes that may interfere with dye absorption.
- Accordion fold or “fan fold” the canvas down the length of the canvas.
- Wrap rubber bands tightly around the canvas at various points.
- Wearing rubber gloves, mix 1/2 cup of well-shaken Indigo dye with two cups of very hot tap water. Mix well.
- Submerge canvas in dyebath for 20 minutes.
- Rinse with cool water until rinse water runs clear.
- Remove rubber bands and let canvas dry.
- Tear a 1.25” wide strip. To make it easier to rip, snip material with a scissors to get the tear started.
- Tear the strip into 2.5” long pieces.
- Attach ear wire to pieces.
- And enjoy!
