Instructions
- Cover table with plastic and gather your supplies.
- Fill small container with 4 cups of very hot water (140F). Wearing gloves, pour 4 teaspoons of well-shaken dye into dyebath; stir well.
- Test dye color on one wooden bead. If color is too light, add more dye; if it’s too dark; add more water. The longer the wood beads soak, the more saturated they will become.
- Immerse wood beads into dyebath. Lightly stir beads to get even coverage. Soak beads for about 5 minutes or until desired color is achieved and let dry on paper towels.
- Repeat to create as many colors as desired.
- Use same dyebath to dip dye feathers half way.
- Remove and place on paper towel to dry.
- Measure and cut twine or leather cord as desired for necklace.
- Cut 1” piece of twine or leather cord, fold in half and place through one dyed wood bead so it creates a loop at the top of the wood bead hole. Secure with adhesive.
- Adhere stem of dip dyed feather into the bottom of the same wood bead hole from Step 10.
- String the feather wood charm onto the necklace length from Step 9 and add dyed wood beads as desired.
- Knot two ends of necklace together and wear!
