Instructions
  1. Cover table with plastic wrap and gather supplies.
  2. Pre-wash the nylon tights. For tights, simply hold them under water and add a drop of liquid fabric detergent and rinse thoroughly.
  3. To create the stripe effect, tightly rubber band each leg at alternating intervals.
  4. Add a few tablespoons of Tangerine dye into a mason jar with hot water and stir to mix.
  5. In the second mason jar, add a few tablespoons of Black dye to hot water and stir to mix.
  6. Place the mason jars side by side and place one leg of the nylon tights into the black dye and the second leg of the tights into the tangerine dye. This way you can dye both legs at the same time. Ocassionally stir the dye bath to ensure the dye is able to flow freely through each leg.
  7. When the desired color is achieved (about 15 minutes), carefully rinse each leg of the tights under cold water (make sure you keep the legs apart so you don’t mix the colors). Rinse until the water runs clear and air dry.
