Instructions
  1. Cover table with plastic and gather your supplies.
  2. Prewash dresses to remove any finishes that may interfere with dye absorption.
  3. Fill a large plastic container with 3 gallons of very hot water. Water temperature should ideally be 140°F.
  4. Add 1/2 cup Rit All-Purpose Dye in Rose Quartz, 2 Tablespoons of Petal Pink and 1 Tablespoon of Coral. Shake bottles before pouring.
  5. Add 1 teaspoon of dish detergent to help promote level dyeing. Stir well.
  6. Test dye color by dipping paper towel in the dyebath. If color is too light, add more dye; if color is too dark, add more water.
  7. Wearing rubber gloves, lower the dresses into the dyebath. The first 10 minutes are the most critical. Stirring helps to ensure an even color with no splotches.
  8. When desired color is achieved, remove from dyebath. Fabric will look darker when wet and will dry lighter. Squeeze out excess dye.
  9. We recommend using Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative immediately after dyeing and before washing to enhance color, increase color retention and prevent dye from bleeding into white areas. Follow package instructions.
  10. Wash in warm water with a mild detergent, rinse and dry.
  11. Secure the letters HAHA to the top of a headband with a hot glue gun.
