How to Change Color

One of the most popular features of using Rit is that you can completely customize your clothing. Whether it’s something new that you wish came in a specific color (and doesn’t) or something you own that you are just sick of, use Rit to completely transform that item into your favorite color.

Select Your Dye Type

The first step to changing color is to check the care tag for the fiber content of the item you plan to dye.

If the item you plan to dye is a natural fabric (such as cotton, linen silk, ramie or wool) or is either nylon or rayon, then select the instructions for working with Rit All-Purpose Dye below.

If the item you plan to dye contains more than 35% synthetic material (such as polyester, acrylic or acetate), then select the instructions for working with Rit DyeMore for Synthetics below.
