Rit Products Used
You'll Also Need
8-12 cup white basket style paper coffee filters
Small gift boxes
Ribbons and yarn
Tape or paper glue
plastic table cover
Step By Step
Cover table with plastic. Gather supplies.
First, Dye the coffee filters. Wearing rubber gloves, prepare dyebath by mixing hot water and Rit Dye. The ratio of water to dye depends on how many filters you’re dyeing and how vibrant you want them to be. For our bright filters, we mixed 1/3 cup dye with 1 quart of water.
To dye the filters simply grab a stack and dip them into your bath for a few seconds until they absorb as much dye as you want. Remove filters from the dyebath and allow to drain for 1 hour. Separate filters and lay out to dry on paper towels, newspaper, or hang on a clothesline to dry.
Use the coffee filters as wrapping paper by folding them around your gifts.
Secure edges with tape or paper glue.
You can also bundle 4 coffee filters together, fold them into quarters and twist the bottom. That way you will get a beautiful flower gift topper.
