Project Description

This is an old bed sheet that I wanted to sew into a dress. First though, I wanted it to be lavender with a watercolor pattern.

You'll Also Need

  •   cotton fabric

  •   glass bowl small

  •   salt

  •   sponge

Step By Step

  1. I laid a wet sheet on my picnic table (outside).

  2. Using sea sponges I added dye to the sheet in a random fashion until I liked the look.

  3. I kept adding dye until I was satisfied

  4. Once the sheet had as many splotches of color as I liked, I allowed it to dry overnight.

  5. Once the dye was dry I soaked the sheet in Washing Soda and water to fix the dye.

  6. Then I washed and dried the sheet as normal.

  7. Finally I sewed the sheet into a dress!
