Project Description

I have been watching these super cute purses pop up all over the place- Target, Walmart, etc. I love, love the look of fringe and macrame for summer but I also knew I could customize mine with a little color in under 1/2 hour.

  •   squeeze bottle (I used the applicator top from a box of Color Perfect from another project)

Step By Step

  1. If you do a lot of dyeing like I do (and I hope you do!), keeping empty bottles is a great way to save time. For this project, I filled up an empty Rit Dye bottle with 3/4 hot water and 1/4 dye.

  2. I also save the applicator tops from box of Color Perfect Rit Dye. You can get inventive here- why not save a cleaned-out mustard or ketchup bottle? I wanted to target specific parts of the design on the purse to add the teal color so having an applicator worked great.

  3. Here you can see where I added squeezes of Teal dye.

  4. For the body of the purse, I filled up my kitchen sink with hot water and 1/2 bottle of Pearl Grey dye and then dipped the purse right in.

  5. Once I rinsed any excess dye out of the purse and let it dry, I am ready to go with my super cute summer fringe boho purse. Love it!
