  • Bride’s photo (printed with white border)
  • Foam brush
  • Paper plate, plastic bowl
  • Paper towels
  • Plastic table cover
  • Latex gloves
  • Paper cutter
  • Microwave
  • Heat tool

Instructions:

  1. Protect work area with plastic table cover.
  2. Cut watercolor paper so it fits into microwave. (Tip: Use the largest piece of paper that will fit in microwave – then you’ll have extra for other projects.)
  3. Pour resist medium on paper plate. Use foam brush to apply resist to heart stamp. Stamp repeatedly on watercolor paper in random pattern, brushing on more medium after each impression. When done, immediately clean stamp. Let paper air dry or dry with heat tool.
  4. Pour Dark Brown dye into small plastic bowl. Brush dye over the resist-stamped watercolor paper.
  5. Dry paper in the microwave: Line bottom of microwave with paper towels. Place the dyed paper in the microwave and set on high for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Remove paper and gently rinse off the Batik medium using a wet sponge or foam brush. Dry paper in the microwave for 1 – 2 minutes.
  7. Using black ink, overstamp the heart on the dyed paper.
  8. Cut dyed panel to size and layer on black paper. Glue to left side of scrapbook paper as shown.
  9. Layer photo to black paper, then glue to scrapbook page, overlapping the photo onto the dyed panel.
  10. Computer generate the sayings and print on vellum paper. Tear out sayings and attach to the layout as shown.
  11. Insert a brad into the white flower and glue a rhinestone to the brown flower, then use a glue dot to attach the flowers to the lower right side of the page.
