Turquoise Bridal Accessories

Step 1:

Note: Bridal accessories must be nylon, cotton, rayon, silk or acetate to be dyed. Rit will not color 100% polyester or 100% acrylic. Rit will color beads and buttons if they are made of nylon or plastic.

Instructions

- Prewash bridal accessories by hand in mild soapy water and rinse. This will remove any finishes that may interfere with dye absorption.
- Cover your work surface with a plastic cover.
- Wearing rubber gloves, shake Aquamarine liquid dye bottle and measure ½ cup dye into a disposable plastic container. Add 4 cups very hot water (140° F); stir well.
Note: Test dye color by dipping a scrap of fabric or paper towel in dye solution. If color is too light, add more dye; if color is too dark, add more water.
- Immerse wet bridal accessories in dye solution. Stir continuously and check color frequently. Remove when desired color is achieved.
- Rinse bridal accessories until water runs clear. Wash in warm water with mild detergent, rinse and dry.
