Teenage Pebbles Flintstone

Step 1:

1) Prewash the white fabric or Tshirt. Leave wet.

2) Cover the table with plastic and grab some rubber gloves.

3) Mix ½ cup Petal Pink dye + ¼ cup Cherry Red dye + 1 cup of salt in 2 gallons of very hot 140˚ water. Immerse the pre-soaked cotton fabric in the dyebath and stir to achieve even dyeing. Continue for about 10-20 minutes or until desired color is achieved. Remember that the fabric will dry lighter, so it's advisable to leave in the dyebath a bit longer than expected.

4) Remove from dyebath and rinse in cool water until water runs clear. Wash in warm water with mild detergent and dry.

5) If using new fabric, sew up the side seams and across the shoulders to make a tunic. Then cut around armholes and neckline. This can be straight cuts or uneven zigzags. Cut the bottom of the tunic with an uneven zigzag. If you're using a large Tshirt, just cut the armholes, neckline and bottom.

6) Cut random triangle shapes for the sheets of felt. Glue on to the pink tunic with fabric glue and let set.

7) The rest of the costume is simple accessorizing.

Pair the tunic with black shorts or skirt.
Add a white scarf or fashion one from some white fabric. Raw edges can work well for the character of the costume.
Find some white, clunky bracelet.
Tie a bone into an elastic hair tie for a finishing touch. We found a dog toy that was the perfect size.
