Holly Season's Greeting Card

Step 1:

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut green card stock to 5” x 10”. Fold in half length wise.

2. Cut Holly patterned paper to 4 ¾” x 4 ¾”. Mount to front of card, as shown.
3. Cut Holly patterned paper to 2 ½” x 9 ¾”. Mount to inside of card along long left edge, as shown.

4. Wearing craft gloves, measure and mix 1 teaspoon Scarlet dye with 1 cup very hot water. Pour into a shallow bowl.

5. Cut two pieces of beige Holiday Text paper, one to 3 ½” x 5” and the second to 3 ¾” x 2 7/8”.

6. Quickly immerse each piece of beige Holiday Text paper into dye; do not allow paper to set in dye. Remove paper and place on paper towels. Dry and heat set dyed paper in the microwave for approximately 30 seconds – more time will cause scorching.

7. Punch each corner of both dyed pieces of paper with the decorative holly corner punch.

8. Mount larger red dyed paper to center front of card, as shown. Mount smaller piece inside overlapping holly paper on left side.

9. Cut vellum to 3” x 3”. Using Versamark embossing inkpad, stamp holly image onto vellum. Sprinkle with gold embossing powder, heat set with heat tool.

10. Cut 3” x 3” piece of beige Holiday Text paper. This is the same size as the stamped vellum square.

11. Pour approximately two dime sized puddles of Judikin’s Diamond glaze into small bowl. Use fine paintbrush to add one drop of Scarlet dye directly from bottle to puddle; gently mix with paintbrush until uniform in color. Paint over berries onto the embossed holly image.

12. To make green glaze, pour approximately two dime sized puddles of Judikin’s Diamond glaze into small bowl. Use fine paintbrush to add one drop of Kelly Green dye directly from bottle to puddle; gently mix with paintbrush until uniform in color. Paint over holly leaves onto the embossed holly image. Let dry.

13. Mount painted image over beige Holiday Text paper onto center front of card. Cut two strips of ribbon 5 ½” in length. Mount one strip directly above stamped image and one beneath as shown.

14. On inside of card, ink Season’s Greetings stamp with green ink, stamp onto beige Holiday Text paper. Trim to size, allowing approximately ¼” more space on left side of verse. Ink edges with brown inkpad.

15. Add strip of green ribbon on left side as shown. Mount to inside of card over dyed red paper, as shown
