Fanciful Fall Wreath

Step 2:

- Tear fabric into three 2” x 18” strips.

- Dip fabric in water and squeeze out excess water. Set aside.

- Wearing rubber gloves, measure and mix ½ cup Violet liquid dye with 4 cups very hot water. Pour into a shallow plastic container; stir well. Note: If water is not hot enough, heat some in the microwave or in tea kettle.

- wist fabric around itself and bunch up. Secure bunch with rubber bands or string. Immerse fabric in dye solution for 2 minutes. Wearing rubber gloves, move fabric around in dye bath and push down on tied area to help dye penetrate the fabric. Then remove fabric and squeeze out excess dye and place in shallow plastic container.

- Cover container with plastic wrap. Cover bottom of microwave with paper towels. Microwave plastic-wrapped dish in oven on High for 2 minutes. Remove container and plastic wrap carefully – items will be hot. Allow to cool.

- Carefully cut rubber bands or string. Rinse fabric under cool running water until water runs clear. Wash with warm water and detergent; rinse and dry.

Step 3:

- Wrap dyed strips around wreath. Add a dab of E- 6000 glue at the beginning and end of the strips for extra security.

Step 5:

- Wearing rubber gloves, measure and mix ½ cup Tangerine dye with 4 cups of very hot water; stir well. Pour into shallow container. Immerse one flower in dye solution and let sit for 10 – 15 minutes, turn flower so it absorbs the dye. Then dye 2 flowers in a Wine dye solution, repeating the same instructions. Rinse dyed flowers in cool water and allow them to air dry.

Step 6:

- To dye the dried thistles, measure 1 Tablespoon Apple Green dye with 1 cup very hot water; stir well. Immerse flowers in dye solution for 10 – 15 minutes. Rinse dyed flowers in cool water and allow them to air dry.

Step 7:

- Use E- 6000 glue to attach flowers and thistle to wreath.
- OK, now hang up your jewel-toned masterpiece for all to see. It's sure to be a winner!
