Crafty Carrot Happy Easter Card

Step 2:

4. Remove and place on paper towels.

5. In separate bowl, measure and mix 1 teaspoon Apple Green and 1 teaspoon Kelly Green dye with 1 cup HOT water. Stir well. Submerge dry baby wipes into hot dye, until desired color is achieved. Remove and place on paper towels.

6. To speed up the drying process and help heat set the dyes, place each dyed baby wipe (one at a time) on a layer of paper towels and microwave on High for approximately 1 minute. (Note: Do not leave unattended - watch for scorching as thickness of wipes is random by brand.)

Step 4:

To Make Card

1. Using carrot stamp inked with Versamark ink pad, stamp randomly all over one 8 1/2” x 11” sheet of white card stock. Set aside.

2. Wearing craft gloves, measure and mix 1 teaspoon Sunshine Orange and 1 teaspoon Tangerine dye with 1 cup HOT water. Stir well. Pour into large bowl. Submerge stamped card stock into hot dye. Remove and place on paper towels.

3. In separate bowl, measure and mix 1 teaspoon Apple Green and 1 teaspoon Kelly Green dye with 1 cup HOT water. Stir well. Submerge 12” x 12” sheet of white card stock into hot dye. Remove and place on paper towels.

4. To speed up the drying process and help heat set the dyes, place each dyed sheet of card stock (one at a time) on a layer of paper towels and microwave on High for approximately 30 to 60 seconds. (Note: Do not leave unattended - watch for scorching.)

5. Cut green dyed card stock to 12” x 5”; fold in half to form card.

6. Ink two “Happy Easter”and “Somebunny is Thinking of You” verse stamps and rabbit stamp with brown ink pad and stamp onto white card stock. Trim around each image.

7. Cut 5 1/2” x 4 1/2” piece of orange gingham paper.

8. Cut 6” x 5” piece of orange dyed baby wipe, mount with adhesivebeneath orange gingham piece and carefully hand-tear around edges. Then mount centered on front of card.

9. Cut 3 3/4” x 4 1/4” piece of stamped, dyed orange card stock.

10. Cut 4 1/2” x 5” piece of green dyed baby wipe, mount beneath orange card stock and carefully hand-tear around edges. Then mount centered over gingham paper.

11. Cut 5” length of green gingham ribbon, mount vertically as shown over two layers approximately 3/4” from left edge of stamped orange card stock.

12. Place stamped rabbit image onto green dyed card stock and cut mat approximately 1/8” larger on all sides (for this image, 2 1/4” x 2 1/4”)

13. Place stamped Happy Easter verse onto green dyed card stock and cut mat approximately 1/8” larger on all sides (for this image, 1 1/2” x 2 1/8”)

14. Mount each as shown on front of card over stamped orange card stock.

15. To make rolled carrots, begin with 3 pieces of orange gingham paper approximately 1 1/2” x 1 1/2”. Roll into cone shape and gently crumple. Tear small bits of green dyed baby wipe and place inside opening of carrot top for greens. Arrange and glue mount on card front.

Step 5:

Inside of Card

1. Mount“Somebunny is thinking of you” verse on 3 3/4” x 1 1/2” green dyed card stock

2. Mount onto 4 1/4” x 1 3/4” orange gingham paper.

3. Measure piece of orange dyed baby wipe approximately 5” x 3”. Mount verse and carefully hand-tear around edges.

4. Mount 3/4” x 5” strip of orange gingham paper approximately 1/4” from fold on inside of card.

5. Cut piece of green dyed baby wipe 5” x 1” and carefully hand-tear along one 5” edge.

6. Mount overlapping orange gingham paper approximately 1/2” from left edge as shown.

7. Mount 1 1/2” x 5” orange dyed card stock overlapping green torn dyed wipe as shown.

8. Cut 1 ¼” length of ribbon and mount 1 ¼” from top of card, overlapping 3 decorative papers on left inside of card. Then mount layered “Somebunny is thinking of you” verse over end of ribbon, as shown.
