Welcome Family & Friends with a Laurel Wreath Made From Recycled Newspapers

Dianne

Did you know newspapers can be dip-dyed?  Here’s an eco-friendly idea for recycling a pile of newspapers into a classic Greek Laurel Wreath that’s sure to bring smiles wherever it’s displayed.  Laurel wreaths were the symbol of victory for Ancient Greek athletes. So if you can recycle newspapers into stylishly modern home decor, well then, you're certainly a winner. This wreath was made by dip-dyeing newspaper sheets, cutting them into leaves and gluing them to a cardboard wreath shape. What's fun about working with over-dyed newspaper is how the grey tones and colors of the original newsprint give the wreath an almost natural, shaded look.  It’s the perfect indoor accent for almost any room in the house.  Click here for the full tutorial.

Wouldn't this make a lovely gift if you used the news from someone's special day, like a birthday or wedding, and made a wreath to commemorate it?
