Marisa Lynch Takes Refashioning To The Oscars!

Renate

We all love the glam and glitz of superstar Hollywood especially when it culminates in that big fashion explosion which is the Oscars. Of course, we mortals watch it from the modest comfort of our living rooms but our friend, Marisa Lynch from New Dress A Day was right in the high styling mix!

How excited we were to hear that Marisa was featured on E!'s "Countdown to the Oscars" show. Surrounded by top couture culture, Marisa gave TinselTown a lesson in how to remake, refashion and repurpose yesterday's fashion into fresh new looks with a simple re-dyeing and re-sashing.  Targeting that dreaded one-ocassion frock... the bride's maid dress, she effortlessly transforms a few unfortunate examples into chic evening gowns that could be worn to almost any event. Wow, she really is the supa diva of eco-fashion!

On a personal note: I absolutely love that they used the sisters, Jenna Lamia and Dendrie Taylor, from The Fighter as the models. Now that is quite another amazing transformation, to go from brawling bruisers to lovely ladies of the red carpet.

Want to see how Marisa creates her fashion magic? Well, she's got the tutorials on her inspiring blog, New Dress A Day along with the full-on Hollywood experience with the effervescent Ross Mathews. Check out more of her stunning Oscar-inspired outfits from True Grit to Toy Story. You'll love it. C'mon who wouldn't want a hint of Natalie Portman's Black Swan look in their wardrobe, right?
