Dye up a Sweet Button Wreath for Holiday Gift-Giving!

Dianne

Gather up your white buttons, any size or shape will do, and we’ll show you how to make this sweet button wreath.  Choose your Rit dye colors – we used Teal, Dark Green and combinations of Kelly Green and Lemon Yellow.  Most buttons are made of a nylon-based plastic and take the dye beautifully in no time at all.  Occasionally you find some that stay white and that’s because they’re made of polyester. Well, just toss those back into the jar. After the buttons are dyed, hot glue them randomly to a flat, wooden-wreath form, covering the outer edges first.  Then have fun overlapping and stacking the buttons as you wish.  The possibilities are endless!  This 6” mini button wreath is ideal for gift-giving and can be hung on a dresser door knob or mirror.
