Tunic Length Tee, Layering Tank, Straight Skirt and Scarf What You Need to Get Started
- We recommend 100% cotton white tank top, long sleeved t-shirt, skirt, and 90" length of fabric for scarf
- Rose Pink, Denim Blue, and Wine RIT Dyes
Tunic Length Tee (shown in Rose Pink and Wine)
- Prepare Rose Pink dyebath.
- Immerse garment completely in dyebath and move around
to ensure that all areas of the garment are exposed to the dye and the garment is dyed evenly.
- Leave garment in dyebath for approximately 5 to 10 minutes or until it is the desired color. The garment will look darker when wet.
- Rinse garment in warm water then gradually cooler water until water runs clear.
- Prepare Wine dyebath.
- Accordion-like fold a section of one shirt sleeve three-to-six inches above the wrist of the sleeve. Rubber band this three-inch section in a criss-cross pattern. Repeat on other sleeve.
- Immerse the folded sections in the Wine dyebath for approximately five minutes.
- Remove rubber bands and rinse each sleeve in warm water then gradually cooler water until water runs clear.
- Wash garment in cool water with detergent and dry.
- Repeat steps 6 through 9 three-to-six inches from the bottom of the t-shirt to achieve the same effect.
Denim Skirt (shown in Wine)
- Prepare Wine dyebath.
- Submerge skirt in dyebath for no more than 5 minutes, stirring garment constantly.
- Lift skirt by the hem until top 2/3 of garment remains in dye bath. Gently move this section back and forth for approximately 10 minutes.
- Remove skirt from dyebath. Rinse under cool running water holding lightest color section at top and allowing water to flow down the darkest area until the water runs clear.
- Wash garment in cool water with mild detergent and dry.
Layering Tank (shown in Wine)
- Prepare Wine dyebath.
- Immerse garment completely in dyebath and move around to ensure that all areas of the garment are exposed to the dye.
- Leave garment in dyebath for approximately 5 to 10 minutes or until the color matches the Wine color on the sleeves of the tunic-length tee. Remember garment will look darker when wet, and different weight garments and fabrics may need less or more time in the dye bath.
- Rinse garment in cool water then gradually cooler water until water runs clear.
- Wash garment in cool water with detergent and dry.
Scarf (shown in Denim Blue and Wine)
- Prepare Wine dyebath.
- Wrap a rubber band five inches from the bottom of each end of the scarf.
- Except for the five-inch portion at the scarf ends, immerse scarf in dyebath for approximately 5 to 10 minutes or until the color matches the Wine color of the layering tank.
- Rinse scarf in warm water then gradually cooler water until water runs clear.
- Prepare Denim Blue dyebath.
- Immerse the five-inch ends of the scarf in the dyebath for approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
- Rinse garment in warm water then gradually cooler water until water runs clear. Wash scarf in cool water with detergent and dry.
